 Your mission

Join GotPhoto during an exciting phase of our growth as our first external Engineering Management hire. We are building a lot of new things, you will be given greenfield opportunities to work closely with our existing engineering teams and our new VP Engineering on everything needed to build a great remote work culture. Not only will you be managing several teams of engineers throughout Europe but In the first few months you will work with us on; 

  • Developer career paths that work in a remote Team. 
  • A Scale up project that will lead you to hire your own remote team. 
  • Creating standards for delivery and ensuring we build products efficiently.

This is not a hands-on engineering role, you may work with your team and with our product team on some architectural or planning decisions. However, the core of this role is you will be managing your team, ensuring a constant high level of teams’ health and environment people love even more to work in.

Full Remote in Germany or EU countries, Relocation offered, €90k - €110k + Benefits

Your role

You will be responsible for people, advancing their development and mastery of their skills as software engineers. You close the gaps in the teams through upskilling of existing engineers and hiring new people. You will help the teams to define their processes, to increase productivity and alignment of their work. Together with the Head of Engineering you form the people development framework and the organisational setup.

We hope you act as a servant leader for your teams: enable engineers to deliver the best product, unblock dependencies and constantly listen to engineers’ needs.

Skills we are looking for

We are looking for someone who has worked as a software engineer and has knowledge in the complete software development lifecycle. However, you have decided to focus on the people's problem in engineering. Ideally you can provide a management track record, having previously built teams and helped them to achieve high productivity levels as well as ensuring they grow as engineers.
