Description

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager of Technical Program Management to lead a newly formed team of TPMs and oversee the development and execution of technical programs across multiple teams and projects. The Senior Manager will work closely with engineering, product, and cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of complex technical projects, translating vision into results. You will also have direct interactions with the CTO and CPO. In this role, you will have the opportunity to define the TPM function’s operating model and make a significant impact on the success of our organization by driving the effective execution of programs and projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of TPMs, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure the successful delivery of technical programs.
  • Develop and implement processes and best practices for technical program management, including project planning, resource allocation, risk management, and issue resolution.
  • Work with engineering, product, and cross-functional teams to define project scope, goals, and deliverables, and ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Monitor and report on the progress of technical programs, identifying and addressing potential risks and issues to ensure successful delivery.
  • You will be directly responsible for certain programs.
  • Serve as an evangelist for the function and team within the organization
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including executive leadership, engineering leaders, and project managers, to drive alignment and collaboration across teams.
  • Communicate effectively with all team members and stakeholders to keep everyone informed and aligned on project goals and status.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of software industry experience, of which at least 8 years in technical program management and at least 5 years managing TPMs and ideally a TPM function.
  • Proven managerial skills to mentor and grow a team 
  • Strong hands on and bias to action mindset
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and provide thought leadership on technical program management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address potential risks and issues.
