We are currently looking for a Senior Research Scientist (m/f/d) for our Research team in Valencia (Spain). In this position, you will play a key role in the team and will have the opportunity to participate and lead innovative projects in different NLP areas: fact-checking, text similarity analysis, plagiarism detection, opinion mining, author profiling, etc. Your work will attempt to improve the company’s products and be aligned to customers needs. In addition, at Genaios we will also encourage you to explore new research ideas and to publish in blogs, forums, reputable research conferences and journals.

Your Job will be

• Collaborate and lead the different research NLP projects
• Mentor and support your junior colleagues on research-related matters
• Designing and implementing machine and deep learning-based NLP workflows and algorithms in alignment with the business needs
• Deliver scalable and maintainable solution using the latest cutting-edge technology
• Identification and evaluation of strategic innovations (concepts, tools/languages, technologies, services) in the field of NLP and deep learning
• Constant personal development in new technologies
• Publish articles in blogs, forums, and prestigious NLP/AI conferences and journals
• Represent the company in the research community

Your Profile

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, telecommunication technologies, or similar
• Master’s degree in NLP, deep learning, or similar
• +5 years experience as a researcher in NLP and deep learning-related tasks
• Fluency in English
• Experience in publishing research material
• Advanced python programming skills
• Experience in at least one of the following tasks: fact-checking, text similarity analysis, plagiarism detection, or author profiling
• Advanced knowledge of one of the following technologies: keras, tensorflow, pytorch, or JAX
• Experience with text classification, sequence labeling, model selection, evaluation and result analysis
• Knowledge of the following technologies: git and docker
• Knowledge of, and/or experience with API and web service development in python; agile methodologies; cloud computing solutions; cloud devops services (Azure, AWS, or Google cloud)
• Respectfulness; teamwork skills; organizational and planning skills; leadership skills; communication skills; creativity; proactivity; problem solving; autonomy

Preferred Skills and Experience

• PhD in natural language processing, deep learning, or similar
• +2 years experience as a researcher in industry
• Experience mentoring and supervising research staff
• Spanish language is a plus
• Knowledge of the following technologies: kubernetes
• Knowledge of multilingual and multi-task classification; adversarial architectures; online learning methodologies; model compression (pruning, quantization, distillation…)
• Knowledge of the following technologies: bash, ssh, linux terminal, SQL, FastAPI, swagger, and  NVIDIA Triton Inference Server
