Details of the role and how it fits into the team

Within the Corporate Bank, the desk is responsible for structuring and marketing interest rate and commodity derivative solutions to DB’s D/A/CH client base. We cover clients in the following segments: Large Caps, Mid Caps, Public Sector, Real Estate, Leverage Finance, Project Finance and High Yield.

The desk is focusing on risk management solutions in all relevant financing related situations, including asset/liability mix, mergers & acquisitions as well as arbitrage and relative value transactions. Thereby the product universe reaches from plain-vanilla products up to highly structured tailor-made solutions.

Your key responsibilities

We seek a professional to cover relevant clients across the D/A/CH region for commodity products, mainly focusing on energy derivates and EUA related transactions.  

• You are advising clients on commodity relate price risks  
• You are building client relationships through continuous, idea-driven coverage and customized updates on market developments  
• You will be working with all relevant stakeholders (trading, structuring, coverage, lending) to originate risk management solutions associated with clients’ strategic and financing activities  
• Your focus will be on long-term projects like event-driven/episodic situations  
• You are in charge to oversee all aspects of the trade process including documentation, regulation, credit mitigation, pricing and execution

Your skills and experiences  

• Academic degree (MSc) preferably within Finance or Economics  
• 5+ years experience in commodity sales, especially in the energy segment  
• Deep understanding of global commodity and financial markets as well as derivative structures  
• Strong quantitative and technical ability  
• Ability to multi-task in a dynamic and fast-paced environment  
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills that allow for comfort in client-facing situations  
• Problem solving skills and a highly motivated, self-starter attitude  
• Multiple European languages are a plus, German and English fluent on all levels
